ABOUT THE MINISTRY

This ministry came into being back in the fall of 2001 as a result of hosting a conference when Pastor Henry Wright came to the Dallas area for a week of teaching and ministry. At that time, we called it Be In Health Ministry, because we needed an organization to host the conference. Pastor Henry liked the name and wanted to use it and I am very happy to see the Be In Health name continue under the supervision of all the wonderful people in Thomaston, Ga., whom I dearly love and call Brothers and Sisters in the Lord and are very much a part of our spiritual family. We are 7000 Project members for Be In Health and support the entire team.  We would encourage everyone  to go to Thomaston and personally experience the teaching and ministry that is benefiting hundreds and hundreds each year with better health in their minds, bodies and family relationships.

As Pastor Wright says in his book, A MORE EXCELLENT WAY, in the case of chronic conditions, where the etiology is 80% admittedly unknown by the medical profession, research from Thomaston over the last 25 yrs.or so has shown that this 80% has some form of spiritual root, breach or sin issue that needs addressing. They are currently working on well over 1000 possible disease connections.  The problem comes when the Christian Believer no longer thinks he should be concerned with sin in his life because he has become a Christian, however, this is not what the Bible says about sin in the life of a Christian.

Notice, when Paul was writing to the Christian Believers back in his day that there was sin that was in need of confrontation. He mentioned it to them in 2 Corinthians 7:1 when he was telling them that their spirits were in need of cleansing, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” As Christian Believers, can our spirits become sullied with un-confessed sin?  I have been walking with the Lord since 1972 and daily come before the Lord for the purpose of cleansing of my own spirit.  What I am thankful of is that He does not reveal these areas to me all at once!  He is a Gracious, Kind, Gentle and Loving Father!  Our Christian walk of salvation involves a process by which we are being made whole, which is the replacement name of our ministry, Being Made Whole.

The name comes from a scripture in 1 Thessalonians. 5:23 that says, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Since God has created us as tripartite beings, having a spirit, soul and physical body, we should at least consider the spirit part of our being and realize that possibly, just as in 1 Corinthians above, (the Christians who were also Believers) that our own spirits may need cleansing from time.  In fact, the longer that I walk with the Lord I am coming to realize that the passage in Phillipians 2:12 that says that we are to: "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling" is indicative of a process by which we are being changed into the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ, thereby being made whole.  No, our initial salvation is not in jeopardy, however, Father desires that we undergo this transformation ministry that is done by Him alone.   He reveals to us the changes that He desires for us, however the final choice is up to us.

Our ministry is to the Believer as well as the non-Believer;  the church-going people that are in need of better health or better yet,  to those who don't want to become sick in the first place.  They would like to safeguard their health and the health of their family by learning what God's Word says regarding their health and well-being.  Those who are ill may have tried various allopathic and alternative modalities  but to no avail.  The goal of this ministry is to discover the area in our spiritual lives where the breach exists, then take the necessary step of repentance to repair the breach.  Once, this is done there is a healing in our physical body or mind that will follow.  It will not require the  excessive use of drugs, herbs, "vitamins taken in fear" or other New Age treatment modalities.. Oftentimes, these modalities result only in disease management, at best.

We never tell you to stop taking your medicine. We are not practicing medicine! Your doctor will tell you when it becomes apparent to him that your medicine may no longer be necessary. That will be his decision and under his supervision. We are also not counselors. We do not give advice. We are teachers of the Bible and we can only share what has become real to us through the study of the scriptures. We don't hold any theological degrees. I am merely a Believing pharmacist who stumbled upon this teaching, however,  I would like to say that over the last ten years we have seen more people helped through this ministry than we have seen in a combination of 20 plus years in the allopathic field as a practicing pharmacist and 20 plus years as owners of vitamin stores that promoted alternative modalities.

I thank God for all of the wonderful Christian doctors, various medical practitioners and emergency rooms available in this country, and would still want their opinion regarding my health and the health of my family, and will be quick to take their advice as trained professionals. Nevertheless, I do have many Christian medical practitioner friends who also share these beliefs regarding our spirit man and also will share this teaching with those in need.  They are currently ministering these principles to their patients, i.e. to those who will choose to receive it. God always gives us a choice. 

Our goal and vision for this ministry is to make this teaching  information available, free of charge,  in such a way as for others to share in their churches or home groups as God leads.  We are trusting God to provide the necessary resources to accomplish this task as well as to connect us with those that we have known to be trustworthy and proven over the years who would be available for a phone ministry around these principles.  We covet your prayers as we endeavor to do this.

In addition to praying for Pastor Wright as he pioneers this teaching all over the world, please pray for my dear Brother, Willis Larson, who lives in the Boston area.  Willis shares a similar vision with us and has a ministry as well, Being Changed Ministry.  We have been blessed to have the privilege of using many of the slides and illustrations that he has created in our teachings. Recently, one of our Sisters in our home group, Sherry Culpen, whom God has abundantly blessed with creative abilities, has taken over the task of assisting in communicating (via power point illustrations) this important message of restoration and transformation. Thanks to Willis and Sherry, we  hope to have more creative materials to use and share in the days ahead in the form of handouts, brochures and pamphlets.

 

PERSONAL

We are Charles and Doris Pollard and have been married since 1957, having two wonderful children and five “perfect” grandchildren. Denton, Texas is now our home. We live in the Robson Ranch community south of Denton. I came to know the Lord in 1972 as a part-time choir director in a Baptist church in Louisiana. Since then, our Christian “walk” has taken us over various types of terrain involving many changes in our Christian understanding, with more to come…to be certain.

By profession, I am a pharmacist who changed careers in 1983, entering the vitamin business in the Dallas area. The reason for the change was a result of seeing more benefits and fewer side effects realized from vitamins and herbs than from the use of drugs. Then in the spring of ‘99, quite by accident, we came across a tape (shared by a window washer) that changed our lives. It was a teaching by Pastor Wright on spiritual roots to disease. In this tape, we heard a nugget of God's truth that caused us to want to hear more. A spark was ignited that began a journey that has become an all-consuming fire. After much investigation of Pastor Wright and his ministry in Georgia, we have continued to explore God’s Word through these teachings and have come to appreciate the depth of wisdom as well as the undeniable truth and have embraced the teaching with a “Berean’s Attitude”, i.e. we have gone back to our Bibles to see if the things that he was saying was in our Bible. I pray that you will do the same and see for yourself that Father God does indeed want you to Be In Health, Be Changed, and Be Made Whole through these various ministries in your spirit, soul and body.
